Short Bio
Hugo Thack is an independent researcher working at the intersection of algorithmic systems, behavioral economics, and digital autonomy. He developed the Behavioral Debt framework — a theoretical model for measuring the cognitive cost of algorithmic preference substitution — which has drawn attention from researchers in behavioral science, information systems, and philosophy of mind.
His debut novel, The Algorithm of You (2026), translates these ideas into fiction: the story of a data scientist who discovers the system he built isn't just watching people — it's writing them. Hugo's work asks a deceptively simple question: who decides what you want, when everything around you is already deciding for you?
